Our 1 year old girl
Yesterday Jenna and I went to the doctor for her 12 month appointment. She is 23lbs 5oz and 30 3/4in long. She is growing by leaps and bounds. The doctor said she looked great and right on target with her milestones.
Since we have been in the process of moving I haven't had internet to blog about Jenna's birthday or her party. Her birthday was a very fun couple of days. I have a lot of pictures and videos. However we are currently at the appomattox house boxing more stuff up so I will post those later.
Until later....

Remembering a year ago
One year ago today I was in my second day on contraction but I didn't know if they were going to continue so I went to work. I'm thinking that working helped the contractions continue and Jenna was here on the 18th (which is tomorrow). Yep that's right our girl will be 1 tomorrow! This first year has just flown by.
Yesterday I had Jenna's 12 month appointment scheduled. We got to the doctors office and the nurse came out and told me that she couldn't get her shots until she was 1 year and 1 day old. So we just left without seeing the doctor. We have to go back next week. I was a little irritated. I don't know why the office couldn't tell me this when I made the appointment in January or when they called to remind us of the appointment on Tuesday evening. Oh well...now I'm informed. We just showed up 3 days too early.
Tuesday was my last day working for the state. It was a very bitter sweet day. I had many good times in the last 4 1/2 years but now I am moving on to something more exciting. I will still be in contact with my old co-workers because I will need them to do work for the farm.
We are in the process of moving and I am reminded how much work it is. There is so much stuff in our house and it all has to go into boxes. Oh well....

after a long absence
I have been thinking about posting and then never get around to it. Crazy things are happening in the Shipp household. We are in the process of moving! Yep you just read that correctly. We are moving to Boones Mill, VA! I am in the process of quitting my job (my last day is March 15th). Starting March 21st I will be working for Bowmont Dairy Farm. Robb and I are very excited about this transition. We are a little worried about trying to sell our house but I guess we will make it through that. So all kinds of exciting new things are happening. I am going to look at our new house this weekend and I will take a lot of pictures to share.
Jenna is growing and changing every day. About 2 weeks ago we bought her shoes. This way she can walk more and run around outside. The first day she wore them it was like it was killing her to have shoes on. I think she is now getting use to them and for the most part leaves them on her feet.
She is also becoming a teenager already. I thought we had a little more time but I guess not. Last night Robb told her no she couldn't do something and she made a huffy noise, threw up her arms and turned away from him. It was completely hilarious! Having those moments makes me miss being with her during the day. If she is being this funny and cute in the few hours we have her before bed then the whole day must be a riot!
So I will be updating more about our move soon!
